About Body Contouring

The body contouring device used to treat the appearance of cellulite on the skin. It is also FDA approved for temporary reduction in the circumference of the thigh. The procedure is non-invasive and painless. The treatment makes use of bipolar radiofrequency energy to reduce cellulite. Skin is tightened and smoothened using infrared heat.

This can be used to treat fat layers and dimpled skin almost anywhere on the body. Popular treatment areas include the abdomen, buttocks, thighs, loose skin on the arms, and even fat under the chin. It can also reduce the circumference of the thigh area.

This device uses suction and vacuum to lift tissues which are then treated with infrared and bipolar radiofrequency rays. This tissue manipulation treatment can be compared to a relaxing deep heat and massage treatment.

Results can be visible after four treatments. For optimal results, a cycle of six treatments over six weeks is recommended initially. After that, maintenance treatments will depend on the patient's lifestyle and dietary habits. For a patient that maintains a healthy diet and regular exercise, maintenance treatments once every three months should be sufficient. However, for patients who do not get regular exercise and consume more calories than are burned, a monthly maintenance treatment cycle may be necessary to maintain cellulite-free skin.

Mild bruising in the treatment area is a common temporary side effect. Temporary redness and a burning sensation are also sometimes experienced in the treated areas. Since the procedure can increase blood flow to a given area,  not recommended for patients taking anti-coagulants.

Benefits:

  • Treatments don't take very long. The procedure itself typically only lasts 20 to 30 minutes, though it can take longer for multiple areas.
  • There's no downtime afterward and you can immediately return to normal activities.
  • The procedure is, by most accounts, painless.
  • It works well in combination with other procedures.
  • It's safe for all skin types and tones.

How it Works:

The treatment works by using a combination of technologies. A vacuum like device will elevate the targeted tissue in the area that is being treated so that it is closer to the energy sources. Then, infrared light (IR) and bi-polar radio frequency (RF) energies will be delivered to the tissue to heat the targeted treatment areas quickly and evenly without damaging the skin. The combination of these energies deep heat fat cells and the surrounding tissue. The result is a reduction in the appearance of cellulite.
